Years of Experience As A Pioneer In Innovative Teaching Practices

Set in the foothills of the Dhaula Dhar Ranges of the Himalayan Mountains and at the altitude of 7,000 feet, Dalhousie is one of the most charming hill resorts in India. Originally founded by the British Army as a retreat for its soldiers, it has now grown into a small, self–sufficient student township, where in its serene surroundings and crystalline air, young minds flourish.

Dalhousie Public School HP, established over four decades ago, is a residential co-educational school. It comprises 1300 students, ranging from age 4 (Kindergarten) to age 18 (Twelfth Grade), of which 1000 are boarders and the rest day scholars.

The teaching staff consists of approximately 85 trained teachers most of whom live on campus. Students and Staff are chosen from across India, as well as Internationally, thus providing an atmosphere of cultural diversity.

Organization Of The School

The School is divided into ten Boarding Houses: Rana Partap, Subhash, Ajit, Nehru, Shastri, Shivaji, Patel, Gandhi, Tagore and Bhagat, named after some of the country’s great freedom fighters.

Alongside the 10 Boarding Houses, the school also houses four Holding Houses, which are meant to facilitate the student’s transition from Junior School (kg to V) to the Middle & Senior School.

Each house is managed by a House Master who is assisted by a House Captain, a House Prefect and an Assistant Prefect, thus forming a structured team within the house.
