1970

The First Session

Dalhousie Public School began with 10 students in Moti Tibba, Dalhousie

The institute shifted to its current location and built pivotal academic amenities

Dr. (Capt) G.S. Dhillon took premature retirement from the esteeemed 2 Para Special Forces in the army and took charge of the school.

The introduction of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) enriched the school’s offerings, fostering holistic development.

The Founders’ Day saw the distinguished presence of Chief of Army Staff, Gen NC Vij, PVSM, UVSM, ADC, as the Chief Guest.

The school was honoured with the Computer Literacy award by the Ministry of Information and Technology.

Dr. (Capt.) G. S. Dhillon, the Director and Principal, was bestowed with the National Teacher’s Award by The President of India, marking a pinnacle of educational leadership.

Annual visits of students to the Kennedy Space Center, NASA
were initiated.

Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, Chief of the Air Staff, graced the Founders’ Day as the honourable Chief Guest.

A momentous occasion unfolded as His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, visited the school, engaging in enlightening interactions with all students.

National pride was exemplified with the inauguration of a 108 ft. National flag mast, the tallest in Himachal Pradesh, at that juncture. Vice Admiral Anurag G Thapliyal, AVSM & BAR, Director General, Indian Coast Guard, presided over the ceremony.

Balkan-ji-Bari, the venerable NGO recognized by the United Nations for its contributions to education, bestowed its highest award upon the Chairman and Director.

Beeji’s Park, a tribute to all mothers, was inaugurated by Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, the Chief of the Naval Staff.

The Golden Jubilee Founders’ Day witnessed the Chief of Air Staff commemorating this milestone and inaugurating a state-of-the-art Indoor Shooting Range.

 

In April 2025, The New Chandigarh Campus opens its doors retaining the core principle of the Dalhousie School: the importance of nature to our educational philosophy.
