After taking premature retirement from the Indian Army in 1986, Dr. Dhillon transitioned to the field of education and assumed leadership of Dalhousie Public School as its Principal. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to school education, Dr. Dhillon has received several prestigious honours, including the Best Principal Award from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (2007) and the National Award for Teachers, conferred by the Hon’ble President of India in September 2011. Under his leadership, Dalhousie Public School was also awarded the Computer Literacy Excellence Award by the Ministry of Information Technology (2008).
Dr. Dhillon belongs to a distinguished family of freedom fighters. His grandfather, Dr. Diwan Singh Kalepani, laid down his life in the struggle for India’s independence, while his father-in-law, Mr. Madan Singh, led the historic Royal Indian Naval Mutiny of 1946. This legacy of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice profoundly informs Dr. Dhillon’s personal ethos and professional conduct.
A visionary champion of holistic and value-based education, Dr. Dhillon remains unwavering in his commitment to fostering independent thinkers guided by moral discernment, global consciousness, and an abiding spirit of service. His legacy extends far beyond institutional distinction, finding its truest expression in the lives of generations of students shaped to lead with integrity, compassion, and an enduring sense of purpose.
