JOINING DALHOUSIE
We invite young minds and their families to join our vibrant family, where excellence in academics, co-curricular opportunities, and values-based education come together to shape future leaders. With a legacy of 54 years of fostering holistic development and innovation, Dalhousie Public School is committed to nurturing every child’s unique potential in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
Our two campuses – the original Dalhousie, and our new facilities in New Chandigarh – follow our core principle of holistic education: we believe in teaching children in nature, where clean air and scenery both calm and inspire. We support that with super-modern learning facilities – smart classrooms, coding courses, and renewable energy.

Further Information
What are the admission criteria for Dalhousie Public School?
For pre-prep entrants, we look for qualities such as curiosity, engagement, and enthusiasm for learning. Our admissions process is in accoradance with government guidelines. Due to a limited number of seats applicants may be included in a draw of lots process. Regardless of the campus or curriculum, we seek students who are ready to make the most of the opportunities provided during their time at Dalhousie. We are not merely looking for high achievers; we want students who will contribute to the vibrant, diverse community at Dalhousie and strive to become the very best versions of themselves.
For students applying to join at the Lower secondary and High School level, our selection process is intentionally designed to be both rigorous and supportive. Candidates first sit for an entrance, and based on their results and teacher recommendations, they are invited to spend a day at one of our campuses. During this day, instead of further tests, students participate in six diverse activities that are designed to be both enjoyable and insightful. These activities help us understand each child’s character, drive, and ability to engage meaningfully with their peers and surroundings. We aren’t searching for the loudest voices or the most outgoing personalities; we seek students who show genuine determination, curiosity, and joy in learning.
For students joining in Grade 11, Dalhousie offers an exciting opportunity to become part of our brand-new New Chandigarh campus or our original Dalhousie campus.
At New Chandigarh, students can choose between the CBSE curriculum, which ensures academic rigour and prepares students for success in Indian universities, or the international track, which emphasize global perspectives, critical thinking, and holistic development. These international pathways are ideal for students aiming to study at top universities worldwide.
What facilities are available for boarding students?
Our residential facilities provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Students benefit from modern hostels, nutritious meals, 24/7 medical care, sports infrastructure, and mentorship programs. Both our Dalhousie and New Chandigarh campuses offer boarding, with the latter also providing a day-school option.
